This is very nice open back banjo for any style of playing. It consists of parts most likely purchased from the Stewart-MacDonald company of Athens, Ohio. The neck has a "double-cut" Gibson shaped peghead and equipped with five star geared tuners. It is mahogany with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and a 26 inch scale. The rim is 3/4 inch thick, unfinished, with an unplated flathead style tone ring and a plated 24 bracket tension hoop. Someone assembled this banjo from parts at some point between the 1970s and the 1990s, but it is a very good playing banjo and comes with a superior gig bag, it would be a great second instrument for some. The only thing I would like to do is perhaps put a scoop at the end of the fingerboard….but that’s for the next owner. .
