A very renowned builder, Paul Fischer got his start over 50 years ago and has built with the likes of David Rubio - only to later open his own studio in 1975, where he would go on to showcase his own thoughtful instruments. This Taute model features some of Fischer's *still* forward thinking design elements in a concert instrument, namely in its unique lattice soundboard. Sonically, this guitar is rich in volume and higher harmonics, and thanks to its incredibly straight grained Brazilian Rosewood back & sides, it offers a very three dimensional and dynamic tone.
A solid Spruce top with the unique Taut lattice style bracing, it is constructed with a standard concert sizing. In its past, a small piece of spruce was added to this guitars center seam, professionally done, it is notable behind the bridge. Cosmetically it is in clean condition with a thin varnish finish. An elegant Spanish rosette and decorated saddle compliment the marquetry rope binding found on the top. Multi wood binding is found on the sides, back and backstrip - marking this guitars general thoughtful design. Typical light surface wear is present on its back. Internally, this Taut bracing pattern consists of 9 long fan braces with 4 tone bar cross braces that bridge over top them. This guitar has a bit of weight, but does not suffer from any loss of resonance. An interesting example indeed.
The neck is set with a more modernized take on a Spanish heel with harder edges. The neck is constructed out of mahogany with an ebony fingerboard (with a 7th fret side dot). It has a 650mm scale length. The neck and neck angle are in great shape, all with a clean fingerboard and frets. Decorative tuners present which function well.
