This is a gorgeous and incredibly rare Paramount Style C original five string regular banjo complete with original twin-pocket hard case; a fantastic sounding banjo that is inspiring to play. The rim assembly features all original hardware, including a gold-plated flange (examples of gold-plated Style C banjos have been noted previously, and this flange is without a doubt original Paramount), raised head tonering, with flip-top tailpiece, and bent armrest; mahogany resonator trimmed with marquetry on the sides and back. The 27" scale mahogany neck has an ebony fingerboard with pearl inlay and later frets; lovely carved heel; peghead overlay has finely engraved pearl work, and is equipped with original Paige tuners with pearl buttons. Condition wise, the banjo is structurally sound, with notable cosmetic wear including finish checking, scratching, dings, binding shrinkage, surface crack on heel cap. Notable forward relief, but a nice playing banjo.
