Ernie Ball / Music Man have put out some fantastic instruments - forward thinking, while still retaining the qualities of many vintage instruments, these have been go to's for lightning fast fingers the likes of John Petrucci, Steve Morse and Albert Lee.
The Super Sport is a cool model that appeared a bit more heavily in the early 2000's - round about the same time as the Peavey branded EVH guitars which share a very similar body shape. Easy to play, it has a Fender style 25.5" scale length and a hardtail bridge - all supported by two nice Dimarzio made Axis Zebra hum buckers.
The body is made with a nice and unique bound rosewood veneer top. The pickups sound great, and very versatile with a 5 way switch employing different combinations of the coils, from your standard 3 way style choices with the 2nd and 4th positions employing just the inner or the outer coils.
The bolt on neck is nice and straight, with the truss rod adjustment at the heel. The action is smooth and easy, measuring 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret. The frets are in good shape having been used infrequently by the original owner. The finish on the back of the neck is taken down at the factory for a smooth speedy feel.
Includes original hardshell case.
