Many who know us also know our friend, Robbie Mortillaro. Robbie began working here at Bernunzio's nearly 20 years ago, and cut his teeth working with his father in our repair shop on some very fine instruments. A seasoned luthier who has seen virtually every kind of instrument, he has great taste for tone mixed with a utilitarian yet finessed aestheticism.
Here we have Lilly, Robbie's first instrument recently updated - serial number 001. Lilly is a 000 style flat top, constructed with a solid spruce top with scalloped X bracing, fully bound and featuring an exceptionally straight grained Indian rosewood back. An ebony bridge with decorative geometric inlay, this guitar has a nice full and balanced tone that excels in finger style and strumming. Three dimensional clarity, responsive bass with a nice voice, and a clear treble - this will impress any fans of boutique builds.
The neck is designed with a 25.5" scale length, constructed with lightly finished Mahogany and a thick ebony fingerboard. The fingerboard has a very nice pearl vine inlay - classy and fairly modest. Grover open gear tuners and 1 11/16" nut width make this guitar a joy to play. The neck is nice and straight with a tall saddle, the action measuring about 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret.
Includes hardshell case.
