Bob McNally - the original designed of the Martin Backpacker - designed these "Strumstick" instruments as an easy way for beginners to start playing their favorite songs. These three string instruments have a simple major scale fretboard (without a 6th, and with a b7 for some color) for each string - much like a dulcimer, without a double course. Tuned GDg, its quite the fun instrument that can fit in a lot of contexts.This is constructed with a simple spruce top and walnut neck (with a simple thru body design) - it has a nice bright character to it that has quite a bit of volume for how small of an instrument this is. 23" long scale length. This instrument comes to us in good condition with some simple play wear and a sealed crack on top. Includes original gig bag and capo.
