A nice instrument for traditional Irish, or in Jazz contexts, a May Bell branded blue-hued pearloid looker, made by Slingerland in Chicago in the 1930s. The 10-3/4" diameter wooden rim assembly is also glad in pearloid, with a innovative nickel plated one piece flange/rim-cap/dowel-cover, armrest, and matching blue/pearloid faced resonator. The 23" scale black painted neck has a bound fingerboard, and is equipped with original Grover Two-Tab geared tuners. A nice playing banjo, there is some mild forward relief, cosmetic wear and tear/scratches and dings present.
