The 00-18 was first introduced by Martin in 1898. The small body became popular among fingerstyle players all over. This example hails from 1956 in excellent condition. Fully bound 00 body with a light brown tortoise binding and pickguard along with aged spruce top and mahogany sides and back give this guitar a unique and beautiful look. The mahogany V shaped neck and 1 3/4" nut width make this guitar superbly playable. The action at the 12 fret is 7/64" on the low E and 6/64" on the high E and the saddle is rather low. Considering it's age, this guitar plays very easily. It has a resonance that only time can forge. Original grover tuners, ebony bridge with small maple bridge plate and pearloid dot inlays. Cosmetically, the top, sides and back all have a few scratches and dings but overall the finish is in good shape. There are a few scratches on the back of the neck but it does not effect it's playability. Overall, this is a wonderful example of a 50's 00-18. Comes with original hardshell case.
