Here is a lovely, hand-crafted clawhammer style banjo by Mac Traynham of Willis, VA. The banjo has a beautiful 11" bird's eye maple neck and rim. The rim and heel are capped in ebony and neck has ebony binding. The rim has a rolled brass tone ring. The fingerboard and headstock are rosewood and feature simple abalone inlays with the Big Dipper and North Star. The fingerboard has a short scoop. The scale length is 26". The banjo is outfitted with geared tuners, Mac bridge, No knot-style tailpiece and Fiberskyn head. This is a perfect banjo for old time playing with a clear and sweet tone. The exact age of the banjo is unknown but Mac has made over 170 banjos since the 1980s.
