Constructors of fine guitars, the LoPrinzi name is well regarded in the world of flat-tops, for excellent design and build execution, that results in a fairly timeless looking guitar with a big sound. The LR-15 is a nicely made Spruce/Rosewood, featuring all solid construction, an x braced top with ladder braced back, and seen here with a neck that joins the body at the 14th fret. Made in Hopewell NJ, and stamped at its heel block with a 4598 serial number, it stands to reason that this is pre 1978, an era where the family brand would be under ownership of AMF. Power and focus are words that come to mind strumming this guitar as it sits. The rosewood offers a nice rich, deep and powerful tone that otherwise is not too common for instruments from this era that don't break the bank. It plays well for now especially at the first position. This guitar arrives to us in good shape, cosmetically clean with some mild surface wear throughout. The bridge has begun lifitng slightly, but not problematically so, with a small repaired crack present between the A and D string bridge pins. The body is free of cracks, but with some light wear primarily on the back. Inside this has rear X bracing pattern with a rosewood bridge plate. It is equipped with an unmarked undersaddle piezo pickup A nice straight neck, the frets are clean, with the ebony fingerboard showing a repaired crack present between the 9th fret through the fingerboard extension. The action currently measures a low 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret, playing easily in each position - the saddle lowered showing about 4/64" visible above the slot. The neck is in good condition nice and straight The frets are clean with little wear, the edge of the fingerboard shows some wear in its finish just from time. The neck profile having fairly thin C shape to it, measuring a thickness of .80" at the first position tapering up to .93" at the ninth. Original gold Grover tuners all function as they should. A 25.4" scale length and a standard 1.75" nut width. This is a very nice guitar that in the right hands will be a super player. Includes hardshell case.
