A superb conversion of a Lange Professional No.3 pot, featuring a 5 string neck constructed by Leo Coulson of Intermountain Banjo.
The 11 1/8" rim of this banjo is quite impressive - 3/4" thick marquetry laden wooden rim features 20 holes with chrome over brass inserts - the inserts protrude out the top of the rim against the rolled tone ring. Each of these Resophonic holes furthers the acoustical properties and "openness" of the sound, which coupled with the resonator makes for quite a bit of power, and very glassy and articulate tone. About 2" of the inner wall of the resonator is a stamped Pat Pending metal insert. An era correct tailpiece is installed. The resonator is flat, with matching rosewood, marquetry decorative ring, and nickel brass wall.

The neck, built by Leo Coulson of Intermountain Banjo is superb. It is designed with a 26 1/4" scale length, and a 1 7/32" nut width. The neck is made out of fine rosewood with a maple/ebony center strip, the fingerboard made of ebony with MOP inlay. The original Professional Triple X peg head veneer buffed and in good shape, outfitted with unmarked Planetary style tuners with ivoiroid buttons. The neck is nice and straight, yielding great playability. The action at the pot measuring

Includes a nice hardshell case.
