A blast from the Victorian Past! This banjo was made by the Gatcomb company in Boston, MA in the late 19th century. The banjo itself is in great shape, including the calfskin head which has no rips or tears. The fifth string peg has been replaced with a friction tuner later reproduction, along with the carved ivoroid pegs on the peghead. 25 inch scale length mahogany neck with later frets on the ebony board. 11 inch diameter spun over rim assembly and 17 frets make this a perfect old time or classic style banjo. soft case included. Dowel stick was reset
