Custom ordered 30 years ago as a spot on recreation of a 1903 Fairbanks Whyte Laydie No. 7, Kevin Enoch certainly knocked it out of the park with this one. The 11" diameter rim assembly features a thin wooden rim with diagonal bands of marquetry on the cap, with tortoise binding on the interior edges, with scalloped Electric tonering, metal bracket band, with notched tension hoop and No Knot tailpiece; light tarnish is present on metal parts, with some wear on the head. The highly flamed three piece maple neck, has a flared and gorgeously carved heel, long back strap, with 25.5" scale ebony fingerboard; the engraved pearl inlay is overall stunning and perfectly in the number seven style, including a fern on the peghead and gryphon on the back. 1-5/16" nut width; added railroad spike, and first four frets replaced with larger wire. Some finish checking present along backstrap.
