A capable banjo, the same model held by Roscoe Holcomb on the cover of release "An Untamed Sense of Control" in John Cohen's famous portrait; hallowed, pure-folk tone, great for fingerstyle or clawhammer. The 11", thin laminate maple rim assembly boasts original hardware (one piece nickel plated flange with slots/circles cutouts, tension hoop, tailpiece), with rosewood armrest, single coordinator rod, with deep/fully bound mahogany resonator. The 27-1/4" scale maple neck is bound, with a rosewood fingerboard, 1-5/32" wide nut, with Kluson Deluxe tuners on peghead, upgraded geared fifth, and Kay emblem on peghead; solidly functioning Kay neck adjustment shim heel hardware present. Cosmetic wear and tear present on wooden parts, with a few chips on back of neck/resonator, and light tarnish and wear on metal. A nicely playing banjo, setup with old skin head, with only light forward relief. Includes original chipboard hard case.
