An early 30's instrument can be a charming addition to many a collection... Kalamazoo's still being generally inexpensive, have found there ways into many studios and the hands of many skilled players - offering up the sound we know and love, that can only be had in a near century old instrument.

This Kalamazoo KG-11 shows no identification of the model or the year, but has the proper, smaller dimensions than its KG-14 counterpart. These charming Parlor/00 type flat tops are comfortable and yield a great sound when approaching blues, ragtime and fingerstyle. It has an impressive low end, and a wise-open midrange - something that you really only get with age.

The body is constructed with a thin, light spruce top - seen here with a deep burst Gibson was known for - complete with a firestripe pick guard in great condition. The top is in good condition, free of cracks - but showing extensive checking and some light dings. Internally, the guitar is ladder braced, all braces appearing in good condition - the bridge plate as wide as the entire lower bout. Dimensionally, this guitar has a 14.75" lower bout, 9" waist, and 10" upper. The bridge on this example has a bit of sheen to it, but appears original. The saddle has been replaced but stands tall (with no evidence of a neck reset) - the saddle showing over 8/64" in height above the slot.
The neck is designed with a 24.9" scale length and a wide 1 13/16" nut width. It has a V profile, with a bit of hefty depth to it, the profile itself free of dings, with only one real notable wear patch towards the 7th fret (possibly from capoing). The neck is nice and straight, the neck angle being a bit shallow - resulting in a medium action that measures 8/64" in height at the twelfth fret - making this a good candidate for a neck reset to those inclined. The fingerboard is clean and free of indentation, the frets only showing light wear at the first position. Original plate tuners function as they should, with original black buttons in great shape.
No case.
