Superb reproduction of a Fairbanks Electric No. 6 model from John Gough (1942-2025), who was a highly respected luthier known for his near perfect restoration skills, and immense respect for the historical details and design elements of 19th and early 20th century "golden age" banjos. Hardly discernible from an original example, the black painted wooden rim assembly has an 11-3/4" diameter, with a grooved tension hoop, scalloped Electric tonering, with marquetry on the rim cap, and binding on either interior edge; some light surface wear present throughout, giving this banjo an authentically old look. Gorgeous three piece flamed maple neck with fully bound 26-1/4" scale ebony fingerboard w/ colorful veneer beneath, with fancy engraved pearl inlay, 1-5/8" wide nut, long backstrap with Gryphon on back of peghead, with floral engraved pearl inlay on front of peghead. A finely playing banjo, with a nice straight neck.
