Iida was a well known Japanese brand which provided surprising quality at reasonable price points - mostly producing affordable clones of the classic Gibsons; punchy and affordable! This high grade example is their top of the line flat head offering, the model 239, featuring a 20 hole bell brass flat head tonering, and gold plated metal parts. The 11" rim assembly has a 14 ply maple rim, 24 hooks, engraved armrest, two piece flange, and clamshell tailpiece; equipped with a curly maple resonator bound in ivoroid, with marquetry lining the exterior side walls; notable tarnish/deplating present, with some cracks on resonator binding. The 3 piece maple neck has a 26-1/4" scale rosewood fingerboard, with hearts and flowers pearl inlay, grained ivoroid binding atop marquetry and functional truss rod; fiddle shaped peghead with gold plated planetary style tuners, 1-3/16" wide at nut.
