Luthier Wes Archer from Zanesville Ohio knows how to build a fantastic instrument - just good luck finding one! Built in small quantities, the "Isabel" line derives from the tried and true workings of a classic Gibson A - down to its bound open book peg head.
Constructed with a nicely bursted book-matched Spruce top it has an instantly classic look with a nice chop and precise definition. A one piece maple back with nice quilt is a great touch, and certainly at this price point. This carved instrument has a nice tall arch and projects great. The bound ebony fingerboard has a 1/8" nut width and is built with a standard 14" scale length. The back of the neck has the finish removed, down to the bare maple which has worn in great - the profile has a subtle V neck with a vintage heft to it. Easy to play action with a straight neck and functional truss rod, the bridge being almost bottomed out, but with no need for any further lowering.
Although used, its in great shape - less the arguable upgrade of the finish having been taken down on its profile. Clean finish throughout, it is free of any repair.
Includes poly foam case!
