A gorgeous new banjo from Hickory Street Banjos, the brain-child banjos of friends of the shop Dave Frenzel and JD Dennis, who started building banjos together in 2005. Over the years, we've had chances to look over these fine banjos as they were developed and are happy to them whenever available!
This example, #010, is a fantastic instrument, with fine attention to detail, and some player favorite features. The 12" rim built by Rochester's own, Richard Newman - known for his work with Ome banjos, is constructed out English Walnut Rim. Equipped with a solid brass tonering, and raw brass hardware throughout, it has a nice and classic look to it, with a fantastic sound. Pisgah Hawk tailpiece, and a Remo Fiberskyn head. The 26.25" scale neck is also constructed out of English Walnut, featuring an Ironwood fingerboard. The comfortable neck also boasts a carbon fiber reinforcement, HSB's own headstock design with beautiful (and super comfortable) volute, Blackwood nut, and frailing scoop. Equipped with Rickard Cyclone 10:1 geared tuners. This banjo comes to us new from the builders with very low play time on it (thus far - it's hard to put down).
Punchy, and with a great definition, this is a fantastic sounding openback - perfect for any banjo player looking for a high quality, well balanced sound met with high quality, boutique level construction.
Comes with a Boulder gig bag.
