Made in Hoboken New Jersey, the Guild M-20 became a flagship model for the brand - becoming a favorite by many finger style guitarists. This small body guitar is comfortable to sit with, and its all mahogany construction, yields an impressive warmth - perfect as a songwriting or recording companion. Made famous by the likes of English songwriter Nick Drake, these guitars have become more sought after by players and collectors alike. This example would make a great companion to the right player, as it has survived some needed repair work. Cosmetically the guitar is still fairly attractive, but it does have some repaired top cracks present. The original bridge has been re glued, and the bridge plate re glued well to the top. The top has belly'd a bit, but the braces are in good shape, and have been touched up. The back & sides show some nicks and bruises as well, but no major structural issues. The saddle has plenty of height left measuring about 7/64" in height visible above the slot, albeit with an added shim. The neck is set very well, and it is straight & playable in every position. The neck on this model is designed with a 24.75" design. The frets are clean with very mild even wear throughout. It has a 1 11/16" nut width, and the neck profile measures .86" thick at the first position and about .96" at the twelfth before the curve of the heel. The action is nice and measures a typical 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret of the 6th string, and 5/64" on the first. This is certainly a collectable instrument, but one that is uniquely ready for its next life writing songs. Includes original hardshell case
