Fantastic original example of a TB-2 from 1931 dripping with pearloid complete with original case. The maple ply rim assembly boasts the original one piece cast flange, single coordinator rod, rolled brass tonering, with small oval Gibson label inside, original armrest and Grover window pane tailpiece; 19/32" deepth ; FON stamps present inside; walnut resonator is fully bound (some shrinkage present), with small ink/chalk FON present near neck cutout; honest finish wear, chipping, scratching, checking present on back. The nineteen fret walnut neck has a spectacular pearloid fingerboard with black silkscreen decorations (also present on fiddle shaped peghead), 1-3/16" wide nut, with patent Grover off set tab tuners with ivoroid buttons; original frets present with mild pitting on treble strings, scratches and indents on back of net, finish checking, and scratching around heel. A fine four string banjo, but an enticing conversion as well!
