An early Gibson pickguard suitable for an archtop L5 - L7 model guitar, with longer distance to run under the fingerboard extension, making it appropriate for a NON-CUTAWAY model instrument.
Original McCarty design, it features a nice low output, low profile neck pickup mounted through the original 5 ply black pickguard.
Original factory flathead screws mount the pickup, original tortise acrylic block with mounting bracket. Original Amphenol " output jack present.
Smaller black cupcake knob appears original. The potentiometer is located *underneath* the knobs themselves (not on the bottom of the guard). Due to its fairly delicate nature, this has not been dismantled in anyway. The original holes through the guard itself appear to have been enlarged during its life, although it is possible that it is factory given the rarity of these to find other examples to compare with. Era correct red .47pf tone capacitor present.
Does not include mounting bracket screws (one near bridge, two near extension, and one for the side bracket would be necessary for proper mounting).
