Gibson's ladder braced guitars, are some finger pickers favorites - with slightly smaller neck shapes, and a nice dry sound that is especially great for recordings. This 1965 LG-1 is one such instrument, and this example is a sure candidate for some recording and possible gigs. An exceptional sounding instrument, with great ease to play, and an amazing dry bluesy tone that is uniquely inspiring.

While not commanding the same price points as other Gibson acoustics, these well made machines are a league of their own, and this one is ready for a new career of songwriting. This 1965 LG-1 likely dates to '65 with its 319525 serial number, but no FON is present to further authenticate. The beautiful sunburst finish has checked naturally over the years, with dings, marks, and scratches, throughout that reflect its age and history. This instrument has mahogany back and side and solid spruce top and no pickguard.

The mahogany neck has a 24-3/4” scale length, with 1-11/16” wide nut; guitar plays with low action, with adjustable truss rod, and low saddle the measures 2 32nds from the bridge; frets appear original with some mild pitting, and tuners are original. Includes later chipboard case, perhaps original.
