From the Memphis shop - the Gibson ES-339 is a popular sized Electric Spanish guitar, with a smaller body size, convenient for many looking for comfort AND tone. The looks of its 335 big brother, it was designed with a comfort level closer to that of a Les Paul.
A good looking guitar, this example sports the nice three tone tobacco burst on its fully bound, 14.5" body. At only 1.75" thick, it has sits nice and comfortably for really any player, but especially for those with some limited shoulder mobility that still want the sound of a hollow body. Similar to the 335, it has a center block to help control feedback, making it a great choice for rock & blues. Sonically it can handle just about anything you want to throw its way. Cosmetically, while being used, this is in great condition with only simple surface wear, really only noticeable on the back.
The neck is is made of mahogany with a bound rosewood fingerboard with standard MOP dot inlay. It is designed with a Gibson standard 24.75" scale length, this example having a fairly chunky profile that measures about .92" in depth at the first position, and tapering up to about 1" at the twelfth fret, as well as a 1 23/32" nut width. The neck is nice and straight appearing hardly used, with super clean frets, binding, and fingerboard. The action measures a low and comfortable 5/64" in height at the twelfth fret of the sixth string, and 4/64" on the first. Original Gibson Kluson double lines present.Very mild finish shrinkage around the peg head inlay.
Includes original hardshell case and COA.
