The Chet Atkins Classic models are unique and rare instruments, suitable for any electric guitarist looking for a unique way to add the expressiveness of a classical guitar to their arsenal. Originally released in the early 80's, they would change subtly, with more recent issues like this example from 2001 having a slightly slimmer neck profile and backplate design.

This example appears to be constructed with a cedar top, fully bound with nice marquetry around its soundhole. Gold accents look great, and this one aesthetically is very clean showing virtually no play wear (the plastic still on the backplate). There is a small repaired crack at the corner of its bridge from the saddle pulling forward, that appears structurally strong.

This is a standard CE model, giving it a bit more of a "crossover" feel, with a slightly narrow 1 13/16" nut width. The neck is straight, and the frets are nice and clean playing well in each position. The action is low measuring about 4/64" evenly in height at the twelfth fret.
