A late 60's Gibson on a budget for sure! The C-0 model from Gibson was an entry point the company produced during the guitar boom of the 1960's. Very modestly built, this student level instrument bares the Gibson name and some examples have a bit more "show" than this example. This beginner level instrument would be a good counter part for a folk troubadour, mores than a purveyor of classical guitar. A thicker cut spruce top, it has a lower bout that measures 14.25" across - the back and sides made of laminate mahogany. Thick ladder bracing internally makes for a fairly quiet acoustic instrument, but something that is actually pretty charming when its strummed. While this guitar has no label, it mostly fits the latter era of this guitars production, but notably without a painted rosette as seen on some examples. Cosmetically, this example comes in good condition with some surface wear around its edges and light scratches on its matte finished top. The 25.4" neck is straight with no truss rod - the neck angle leaving a little to be desired, actually has decent action. The saddle is standing fairly tall above the slot, but one might consider lowering it relieve some of the string height. The frets and rosewood fingerboard are in good condition. Slot headstock and original tuners work as they should. 2" nut width. Includes simple gig bag!
