Can't say we've ever seen another B-25 model finished in Cherry!

A favorable player model, these comfortable slightly small bodies offer up a nice punchy and woody tone - a nice cross section of the things flat pickers like about dreadnaughts and finger style players like about a 000.

The body is made with a solid spruce top, seen here in the rare stained red finish - complete with binding and white pickguard. The back and sides are laminate mahogany - robust, a bit heavy. Internally, it is x braced with a wide but fairly thin maple bridge plate - this one slightly separated due to age. The rosewood bridge is pinned to the top, the saddle adjustable with set screws with inserts that go through to the bridge plate. The bridge is lifting at the corners on this example, which could be adjusted by the future owner if one decided to remove the screws - they might consider re-adhering the bridge plate a bit better as well. Cosmetically and structurally, this is actually a really clean example, with the four piece spruce top free of cracks or belly - with only simple checking and a few nicks present. The sides and back are in equal condition, with checking present and a few scratches but no structural issue.

The neck is designed with a 24.75" scale length, and a 1 5/8" narrow nut width common to this era. The neck is made out of mahogany with a rosewood board, and it retains the original wide frets. The neck profile measures .83" in depth at the first position and tapering up to about .98" at the ninth fret. The fingerboard and frets are clean, with even wear, a bit of wear in the rosewood around the first position but hardly notable. The neck is nice and straight with a functioning truss rod, the action measuring 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret of the sixth string and 4/64" for the first - the saddle is bottomed out currently, yielding a less than perfect break angle for the saddle - for sonic purposes, one might consider replacing the saddle with bone, as the height is a plenty here on the rosewood with 12/64" exposed over the slot - just a thought! Replaced unbranded plate tuners with white plastic buttons, the originals long gone. The serial number 700013 stamped at the headstock could put this at early '67, but you can be the judge!

A nice piece of 60's Gibson history, packed in a good player.
Includes slightly later Gibson branded chipboard case, with red interior!
