A banjo-killer in every way, a Gibson Adam Steffey Signature Model F-5 built and signed by legendary Danny Roberts in 2003. Number forty-seven of a limited run of fifty, the instrument was dated on May 23rd of 2003 and boasts richness, bark, dynamic range, and is even a-looker featuring a small sunburst on the top and back; a real hoss. The F style body was constructed with a hand-carved Sitka spruce top w/ tone-bar bracing, and Eastern flamed maple back and sides; double-binding present on all sides, with adjustable ebony bridge, engraved/namesaked tailpiece cover, with oval shaped Master model and factory approval labels inside beneath F holes. The one piece flamed maple neck has a bound 14" scale radiused ebony fingerboard with no extension, tapering to a point after the twentieth fret; the Artist shaped peghead has a 1-1/16" wide bone nut, with The Gibson/Fleur-De-Lis inlaid in pearl into the overlay; equipped with engraved geared tuners with pearloid buttons. In very good, honest original condition, slight binding skrinkage is present throughout (particularly near scroll on body), with light surface scratches and pick wear on body mostly near bass side f hole/upper point on topface, finish wear on back of neck behind lower three frets, and some tiny dings on top edge of peghead. The first eleven frets have been replaced with slightly larger wire, and show dressable pitting on the treble strings until the eighth or ninth frets. Includes Gibson F style hard case
