Originally purchased at Levis Music Store in Rochester for $52.50 in October of 1930 to a nearby local resident, this is an original truss rod Gibson A-1 model, with black finish, "The Gibson" in white stencil; original bill of sale provided. The a style body has a bound spruce top, back and sides of "Michigan Maple", with screw-on tortoise pickguard, original patent stamped adjustable bridge (replacement top); lots of play wear, surface scratching, belt rash on back, but no cracks or repairs present. The maple neck has an extended ebony fingerboard, thin original frets (notable pitting on treble strings present, but not impacting intonation currently), with pearl dot position markers; soft v profile, 1-3/16" wide nut width. Equipped with original plate tuners, adjustable truss rod; extremely well repaired peghead crack (small rounded chunk beneath treble ear). Later hard case.
