Based on the early Gibson Army-Navy models, this is a flat back/flat top mandolin featuring a bound spruce top, koa back/sides (two-piece back). The tone is rich/dynamic, and the playability is excellent. Stunning koa with a herringbone and rope marquetry rosette and binding, the back sporting a nice subtle flame.
13.75" scale length the neck is designed with a three-piece satin mahogany neck w/ ebony fretboard. The frets are in great shape showing virtually no wear, the neck straight yielding a nice action about 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret.
The body shows some mild surface scratches, but nothing too troubling - mostly pickwear and some mild dings around the binding edge.
Original chipboard case included.
