Introduced in 1962, the Fender Jaguar would become an iconic guitar type for the Fender product line being nearly as popular as its offset sibling the Jazzmaster but staying mostly out of the limelight like Stratocaster or Telecaster. We are now in the age of offsets, and we welcome with open arms this certainly surfy hot rod. This year is well known for its neck profile, and it is truly a joy to play - well maintained by the original owner.

This guitar arrives to us in great shape from the original owner, who hadn't taken much to playing guitar overall. Original 3 tone sunburst finish is in good shape, with light nicks and scratches present (see photos) - an old "Black Jack" decal present. Chrome has some scratches but still is quite shiny without much rust except on screws. Original plastics and whammy bar present, missing mute, and with a currently replaced saddle.

Original pickups, 3 ply tortoise guard and shield present. Original Stackpole tone pot dates to 36th week of '63, the original volume pot is not present and had been replaced with a CTS pot in the 80's - not terribly unexpected and a mild detail for the rest being original.

Accurate 1JUN63B stamped on the heel. The neck on this guitar is nice and straight and maintains an even low action, clean frets, subtly flamed maple with Brazilian rosewood veneer fingerboard with clay dots. As mentioned, these guitars have a fantastic slightly thinner profile shape, which many players will like. Clean profile that measures .82" thick at the first fret and .93" at the twelfth. A typical "B" stamp at the heel indicating it's a normal width, 1 5/8". The original frets show hardly any wear present aside from the finish at the cowboy chord zone, again having been used only sparingly. The action measures a very playable 5/64" in action at the twelfth fret, original factory shim present.

Weighs 8.5lbs

These instruments are still a bargain for players looking for a 60's Fender, but would also be a nice addition for any Fender collector.

Comes with the original hardshell '63 white case in good shape cosmetically, but both outer latches are not functional (see photos)
