Fretless! Thumpy & punchy in the ways only achievable from a Fender P!
This particular instrument is player owned coming to us in great original condition dating appropriately to early 1976. Original three tone sunburst over a nice ash body (which appears to be one piece). All original, it retains its bridge, pickups and pots - a pickup cover long removed. Original pot codes date accurately to early '76 and without the serial number at the headstock it likely was one of the last before the transition switch. Poly finish, it is in good condition with some typical light nicks and dings present with a bit of buckle rash on the back towards the lower horn. Three ply black pickguard has some wear from the past owner.
The neck is in great condition with minimal wear overall. Again, fretless, this has a veneer rosewood fingerboard that has some light wear from past sets of round wound strings, but nothing problematic (and to be perfectly honest, could be a solid contender for a fret job if the next owner felt so inclined). The neck is nice and straight and plays with low action. It has the typical 34" scale length, with the truss rod adjustment at the heel - the rod fairly well maxed out currently. This is a great example of an instrument sometimes overlooked but becoming more and more collectable.
