The real deal, this is a Fairbanks-Vega Whyte Laydie Guitar banjo circa 1921, with upgraded tuners and tailpiece. The 11-13/16" diameter rim assembly is of maple, with fabled scalloped tonering, with tortoise binding; equipped with later armrest and upgraded tailpiece (original in case pocket); tarnish to metal plating and some cosmetic dings and scuffs present; missing ferrule; date of make written inside pot. The three piece maple neck has a 25.5" scale length ebony fingerboard with 1-7/8" nut width; equipped with Grover Rotomatic guitar tuners; Vega star on peghead; lots of surface scratches and dings on back of neck, with small pieces of binding crumbling on 18th fret treble side; neck has some forward bow present; action is about 3/8" at 12th. Includes chipboard case.
