All original 16 fret short scale tenor banjo, originally sold in Buffalo in retailer/teacher/publisher/ harp guitar innovator Walter A. Boehm's store on Allen St. produced around 1920 with his stamps on back of original skin head. The maple rim assembly has a 11-13/16" diameter with perforated Tubaphone tonering, original hardware (including four string no Knot) but for later neck adjustment fixture; Tubaphone and Style M stamps on dowel; the sixteen fret maple neck has a 21 inch scale, with original frets (lightly worn), simple pearl inlay on board. Equipped with original spring-loaded Grover tuners, w/ 1-1/8" bone nut, vine inlaid in pearl on peghead overlay. A fine growling player, with little to no relief / warp on neck, low action. Includes original hard case.
