Approaching 100 years old, we're pleased to offer Epiphone Recording Concert plectrum banjo in its original hard case, sitting proud in Epiphone's Recording banjo lineup from the Jazz age. The 11" diameter archtop rim assembly features rosewood construction, engraved and gold-plated metal parts including flange w/ small X cutouts, with plating worn from custom armrest inscribed with former owner's name; original engraved clamshell tailpiece included in case pocket (issues with spring/pin) along with original armrest (broken mounting plate); the rosewood resonator features marquetry and herringbone, with a brown pearloid back featuring concentric circles and a triangle of colorful marquetry; finish blemishes/deterioration and case rashing present on sides of resonator on bottom edge, with normal surface scratches throughout; several mismatched gold plated nuts. The 27" scale rosewood neck is fully bound, with a engraved white pearloid fingerboard, with a thick layer of marquetry underneath, with matching peghead overlay featuring the Epiphone name and model and more floral decoration; equipped with original offset tab tuners; delicately carved long heel carving with daisies. A fine player, there is some light forward relief, mild fret wear, with lots of finish wear on the back of the neck. Includes original hard case.
