A nicely made, budget copy of one of the most well loved guitars of all time... The Epiphone EJ-160E is a take on John Lennon's rare Gibson. Gibson began producing the electrified EJ-160, essentially a J-45 with a mounted pickup and controls in the mid 50's. Epiphone (under Gibson ownership) began producing these copies in the 90's, and its become quite a favorable model. All solid construction, spruce top with Mahogany back & sides, it famously features the uncovered P-90 pickup with Volume and Tone controls. This example dates to 2008 and comes to us in very good condition - having clearly been used sparingly. The top is free of structural wear, and only shows mild cosmetic surface scratches, likely not visible in a photo. The pickup works as it should and provides a nice deep warm, semi electric sound that these guitars are well known for. The neck has a 25.5" scale length, with a 1 11/16" nut width. The neck is straight, the frets are clean, and the saddle is untouched. The action is low and comfortable measuring an industry standard 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret. No case.
