An excellent player's instrument, this is a Cole Eclipse that has undergone restoration and repair, and is now playable and attractive. We speculate that this banjo originally was a Style 3500, as per the peghead inlay, but was subsequently refretted with a thicker unbound fingerboard; well-repaired crack on the "boat heel"; finish appears to have been added at that point; later tuners; dowel stick is stamped correctly. The 10-7/8" rim has no stamps, and the wooden portion has a seemingly new coat of black paint; both the tonering and tension-hoop appear original; hooks and nuts look original with some plating worn to raw brass; neck shims and adjustment hardware are original w/ an added shim. Includes chipboard case
