Top of the line A. C. Fairbanks Whyte Laydie No. 7, serial number 25141 built circa 1909, featuring 10-15/16" diameter head w/ 27" scale length. The maple rim assembly has a colorful marquetry rim cap, with tortoise trimming the interior, original hardware present including nickel plated bracket band and grooved tension hoop, No Knot w/ adjustable cams, neck hardware and plaque (added rosewood plate behind neck ferule); patent, model, and serial stamps present on rim and dowel. The flamed maple neck has a thick/detailed/carved heel, with long backstrap, and bound ebony fingerboard; detailed engraved pearl inlay on the fretboard present, with gorgeous fern on peghead overlay, and griffon on back. 1-1/4" nut width. Equipped with original gold plated friction tuners with large pearl buttons on peghead with two later washers under screws. Some wear on back of neck, vertical cracks on pearwood overlay/backstrap, finish checking beneath board and around pearlwork, mild fret wear with some pitting on board, with light forward relief. A strong player, with intense Electric tone.
