Truly a banjo-killer, early 2000s Brushcreek F-5 T model, high quality, small output single maker construction, from Geoff C. Waters (signature present on oval label inside, below 8/10/2003 date); rich and dynamic tone. Featuring flamed maple construction throughout the fully bound and trimmed F style body, the instrument has a two piece finely grained spruce top, with two piece back, two vertical braces on top, f holes, with gold-plated tailpiece, pickguard hardware; hairline finish checking present, with some dings and scratches from playing, and Ricky Skaggs' signature on back. The one piece maple neck has an extended ebony fingerboard, pearl dot markers, with engraved plate tuners, maker name and shooting star inlaid in pearl on peghead, with some dings on top of peghead, and tarnish on tuner shafts. A nice playing mandolin with low/medium action, there is slight fall-off on the extension, and the adjustable bridge at its lowest. Included in sale is original square hard case.
