From 2012 until 2016, Jason Banning full time produced Banning Guitars - high quality, USA built - mostly unique spins on tried & true instruments. A. background in metalwork. these have exceptional detail, and do a great job at mixing the aesthetic with the practical.

One of Bannings designs is the Heartbreaker, like the example we have here in a cool Fender-esque Antigua satin finish. Dating to 2015, it was towards the end of the full time production examples Banning had built. Rickenbacker meets Fender - this is a really cool addition for any vintage enthusiast, or giggings musician who needs an electric that can handle a lot of tones. A chambered Alder body has details very similar to Rickenbacker, from the two tier pickguard, to the custom "B" tailpiece, while retaining a traditional Telecaster shape. Cosmetically, while being used, this guitar is in great shape with hardly a mark present, less some very non threatening nicks on its pickguards edge.

The pickups are custom, by Banning himself. The neck or "Bass" pickup as labeled at the knobs, is a nice sounding dark & punchy Porter P-90, the Bridge a custom wound filter'tron humbucker, equipped with a coil split via the mini toggle. Upgraded 50's black candy style Del Ritmo Vitamin Q tone caps present.

The bolt on neck is constructed with a semi gloss Maple profile, with a bound rosewood fingerboard - sporting iconic shark tooth inlay and a 12" radius. Standard 25.5" scale and 1 5/8" nut width, it has a slim profile that measures .80" in depth at the first position, tapering up to about .85" at the twelfth. The frets and fingerboard are clean, having been used sparingly amongst the collection. Easy low action setup here in our shop measures a factory standard 5-6/64" in height at the twelfth fret. This is a nice homage to fine yesteryear guitars.
