This banjo is considered the workhorse of trad jazz/Irish banjoists all over the world. This particular banjo is a late example of a No. 1, with a painted grey inner pot and a non-holed tone ring; the 19 fret neck has been refinished, re fretted, with well-repaired peghead crack; later tuners; the serial numbers match, with great playability and tone; 23" scale length and 11" pot w/ original Oettinger tailpiece; tarnish present on metal, some exterior surface wear is present, with finish touchup on wooden parts.
