Player's example of a Silver Bell No. 1 19 fret tenor, from the Bacon Banjo Co., who were operating out of Groton CT at the time of this banjo's manufacture. The 11" rim assembly features all original hardware down to hooks and nuts, Oettinger tailpiece, Silver Bell tonering, with square resonator nub broken from f hole flange, and hook-mounted armrest ends present on hooks (armrest in case pocket); stained maple resonator with lots of plating and finish wear, with red Bacon label intact. The five piece maple neck has 19 frets, 23" scale length, 1-3/16" wide nut, with bound ebony board featuring pearl inlay; frets show mild pitting mostly in treble postion; large peghead shape with pearl inlay on face (finish checking and scratching present throughout neck), with large chunk of material absent from reverse; equipped with offset tab Grover tuners. Includes hard case, lots of exterior wear/missing handle.
