At 100 years old, this is a fine, one owner, Bacon and Day Silver Bell No. 1, the esteemed company from Groton, CT. The dark stained maple rim assembly features a new head. The instrument is equipped with original hooks and nuts and Silver Bell tonering with interior perforations; nicely flamed, matching maple resonator with "f" hole flange. Five piece maple neck has large, early profile with bound ebony fingerboard with original frets, pearwood peghead overlay with all pearl inlay intact. Equipped with original Grover, non-geared tuners that are still holding….. currently in the shop for cleaning new head and set up the banjo shows very little wear on the frets or the neck.
