At 100 years old, this is a fine, one owner, Bacon and Day Silver Bell No. 1, the esteemed company from Groton, CT. The instrument is equipped with original hooks and nuts, Silver Bell tonering with interior perforations, Bestone armrest, Oettinger taipiece; nicely flamed, matching maple resonator with "f" hole flange; replacement thumb screws. Five piece maple neck has large, early profile with bound ebony fingerboard with mildly pitted original frets, 23" scale length, with 1-3/16" wide at nut; setup with original spring loaded friction tuners; a nice player, this example shows some mild forward bow.
