TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING!

October 17th, 2022

Good Morning Folks,

Well, sorry I did not make it to the store on Saturday. I think I was over shooting what I can do at this point. After having attended a wedding on last Saturday and my 75th birthday party this past Wednesday I am feeling like a bag of old wrinkled clothes. Against the recommendation of my physical therapist I drove my mobility cart down to Laurentide Inn, used it at the party so I could move around the crowd a little bit better. I also made the mistake of driving it home over a very bumpy sidewalk, after a long evening.  It’s been quite a struggle to get out of bed in the morning. I’ve had lots of good help from Julie and the physical therapist and a bit of medication which I always resist, but frankly progress has been slow.  That said, I have nothing to do but go forward so that’s what I intend to do.

My birthday was nothing short than fabulous…far beyond anything I could have imagined…. I can’t believe I had to wait till I turned 75 to have something like that! The food and the camaraderie that we received at Laurentide Inn was beyond expectation. It was without a doubt the best birthday I have ever had. There were families with children and grandchildren and brothers and sisters -in-laws, and brothers and sisters and these five courageous gentlemen who drove two hours to play songs from Bob Dylan’s Freewheelin album as my birthday celebration. I literally was touched to tears. Some of the music is saved as a Facebook event. Frankly, I was quite challenged at trying to stream the music but some of it is really worth a listen. I will set a link here and hope that you will be able to listen to some of it. To hear these young guys playing music that was written 30 years before they were born, and to play it so soulfully….well it was just spectacular.
