Oct. 6, 2025 - HEADING TO BALTIMORE

While Julie was taking that beautiful panoramic shot that is the headline of this newsletter, I was taking a picture of her taking the picture while sitting in the comfort of my car.

The celebration of Halloween usually begins in Penn Yan in the middle of September. These photos are from the street that leads to the cemetery…. how appropriate

Our favorite all-time banjo player, Gavin Rice, is headed to Switzerland to play in a jazz festival. He never ceases to amaze me. In December, he will be moving to New York City where he will make the big time!

A beautiful cappuccino on a great sunny day at Amity coffee on Main Street in Penn Yan.
HEADING TO BALTIMORE
October 6th, 2025
Good morning friends,
Today, Julie and I are headed towards Baltimore, Maryland. It seems that a few folks there enjoyed my ranting and raving while I was in Sicily on my solo pilgrimage. So I’m scheduled to give a speech, a talk about being a solo and handicapped traveler. Now, I have never given a speech in my life. I talked in front of classes of learning disabled kids, but that hardly qualified as a speech. To say that I am a bit nervous, is an understatement. I’ve been preparing for several weeks with the technical help with Allison Lindsay, our latest employee and of course Julie, with her common sense. Next week, I will share the full contents of the speech here on John’s corner but for today this is all the wisdom you get.
The boys will be taking care of the store while Julie and I are gone this week. Ryan Yarmel and Sam Snyder complement each other in so many ways. While Ryan is great with the acoustic guitars and old banjos and mandolins, Sam knows the electric market like the back of his overhand…Together, these two guys have been working for me for over 30 years. They are the new face of the business, and I trust them implicitly.
Since we are traversing the path from Rochester, New York southwards through Pennsylvania and on to Baltimore, if anyone has any instruments, they would like us to look at or pick up for consignment or sale, give me a call or send a message. We will probably be staying halfway the first day and then on Tuesday going to the Baltimore area. My speech is on Wednesday…wish me luck.
With peace,
John Bernunzio
