Drew Frech, banjo master, stopped by the store to check out a Stewart presentation banjo we just obtained.
The store was a very busy place on Saturday with lots of people stopping by for our ukulele Saturday get together AND to purchase things in our "in store flea market". Yes we have set up some tables with some of the instruments that we purchased from the big collection last month and we are selling the projects as found. Not all of these are on our website so stop by the store and check things out.

A workshop guaranteed to give you new inspiration, to transform your guitar playing and help you make the most of your time with your guitar. Muriel will share her innovative approach to technique, arranging, interpretation, and inspiration. She will share what she learned directly from Chet Atkins, Leo Kottke, Doc Watson, Christopher Parkening, Segovia, Jimmy Page and Merle Travis’s son Thom Bresh. Every participant will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive individual attention. Bring your guitar, pen & paper and/or recording device. This class is geared towards intermediate guitar players.

THE END OF THE SEASON

Good mornings folks,
The autumnal equinox occured at 2:50 a.m. EDT on Saturday marking the official end to summer. For the next three months, the light will get less and the darkness will grow; nights will be longer and days shorter…. Until we reach the winter solstice. So, it was fitting that on Saturday, at the last moment, we decided to attend a baseball game with my son Jay, his twin daughters, Scarlett and Olive, son Rocco, my daughter, Kara, and her husband, Michael and son Elliot. We enjoyed the typical dogs and beer, cracker jacks and peanuts and of course a bit of fried dough. Being around those kids puts a spring in my step and a lilt in my heart. However, there is always a tinge of sadness when the season is over and the summer has come to a close…. everything changes today, as we enter full fall mode.
At Bernunzio‘s, this is always the time when we get more serious about vintage instruments, their purchase and their redistribution around the world. We have some very interesting "stuff" coming in this week…. including a small collection of pre-WWII Gibson guitars and of course a load of vintage banjos. We are going to also do a couple of upgrades to our website and have a regular flea market section where people can access all the instruments that are being sold in as found condition. We are also looking forward to a workshop that we have scheduled on October 12th with the great Muriel Anderson, the first woman to win the National Finger Style Guitar contest. We will have an event set up soon so you can register for this exciting opportunity. Coincidentally, it is my 77th birthday and THERE WILL BE CAKE served all day long! Stay tuned for details.
