March 3, 2025 - BRING ON SPRING AND A SPECIAL PACKAGE

I have known Ben Proctor for over 20 years… since he was a student at Eastman School of Music. He is now a public school teacher and the leader of a great band, "The Crooked North". He also leads our monthly bluegrass, beginner jam, and this past Saturday it was an overflowing crowd.

Perhaps this unexpected announcement in city newspaper has something to do with our enormous crowd

I had a wonderful lunch on Thursday with my daughter Rose who’s getting nice and round. She’s got a date with a doctor this week!

On Saturday, my daughter Kara Miller visited me and brought a little lunch and we made a little selfie… She is my first child and she always tugs at my heart!

So this guy stopped by on Saturday and we had a long visit. He held several improvisation workshops in our store over the years. If you want to have some hilarious viewing pleasure go to YouTube and look for the following link:

Anyway, he might just be bringing a workshop back to our store one of these days…

I received a picture from my friend Mauro Amato… He told me he would wear my T-shirt out to his next gig!
BRING ON SPRING AND A SPECIAL PACKAGE
March 3rd, 2025
Greetings,
Sicily seems like a dream to me now. A deep, cold frost has blanketed our area and the warmth I experienced weeks ago is but a memory…although I do have plans to return as soon as possible! So for now it’s time to tend to business as usual… taking care of the store and expecting a BIG delivery….to be announced next week.
I worked the store Thursday, Friday and Saturday and spent a good deal of time talking about old instruments with old friends. I bought a nice Gibson Style A-4 mandolin and sold a few banjos. I still can negotiate my way around the sales floor and have a good time hanging out there. So, if you happen to be in the neighborhood, please stop by and say hi. We’ll hang out. I usually bring something in that I’ve cooked up during the week. This past week’s treat was a nice applecrisp! Stop by on Saturday I may have cooked something up!
In the meantime, I’ll be hanging out in Penn Yan, absorbed in the small town atmosphere, good vibes and fine people. As I told Julie the other day… it’s the only place that I know that you can make a U-turn on Main Street at 5 o’clock in the afternoon and no one blinks an eye!
With peace,
John Bernunzio

The back room jam was….well….jam-packed! Thanks to Sammy Hirsh for this great picture. He tried to get as many people in as he could.
