BANJOS AND BASEBALL

SAVE THE DATE: the Rochester Red Wings and Bernunzio Uptown Music are teaming up for an event entitled "BANJOS and BASEBALL" at Red Wings Stadium. The banjo is the quintessential American instrument just as baseball is the quintessential American sport. The first baseball game was played in Hoboken, NJ in 1848. The first banjo went to production in Baltimore, MD around the same time. And they changed as America changed . Initially, the banjo was in agrarian style instrument made of a gourd or a simple, wooden rim and initially baseball was a pastoral affair played in a “field”. Today, both banjos and baseball are part of daily American fabric. We will celebrate this relationship on July 31 at 1:05. It should be a great game! Lots of free giveaways and we will have a merchandise table and strolling banjo players…and all of the music will be played on the banjo. Yes, we are bringing the rarest of all banjos the Gibson All American….what else might be more appropriate to play the “Star-Spangled Banner” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”!

we have tickets for sale at the store for only $10 and the QR code on the poster will take you to the ordering site if you choose to order from the stadium.
