Quite the looker! The FG-350W from Yamaha is a great dreadnaught option for the player looking for something with durability, tone AND looks. Laminate rosewood back and sides with a solid spruce top - a lot of websites saying these are laminate top (its a bit on the thicker side, but evidently solid) - tonally its a powerhouse with a lot volume and definition.
Cosmetically this guitar is in very good condition for its age. It has a small separation at the binding at the top - but this has been glue sealed and does not show any further issues. The bridge plate is pinned, interestingly, the treble side pin protrudes into the bracing - this is from the factory - and doesn't seem to be a real issue structurally. Internally, the braces are nice and thin, with a classic maple bridge plate that is in good shape. The fingerboard extension is braced with a heavier tone bar for support, and frankly I think it adds to this instruments volume in a positive way. The neck is nice and straight with clean frets and low action, the saddle untouched, and easily adjustable if need be. The neck profile is hefty with soft V feel to it, and coupled with its 1.75" nut width, it feels easy even for a player who might not typically go for that shape. The neck measures a thicker .92" at the first position tapering up to about 1.13" by the eleventh fret before the heel. It has a 25" scale length.
