Yamaha Acoustic guitars have become very well regarded amongst players since their original Japanese guitars from the 60's ended up in the hands of many. The modern A5R model harkens back to their prestigious builds, and features some very high grade details for a reasonable price point - seen here in a hardly used recent model. The A5R ARE model is constructed with a very resonant solid spruce top, X braced, with solid rosewood back & sides. "ARE" is Yamaha's denotation for their own high heat horrification process - something adopted by many brands to replicate the sound of a nice vintage, well opened up instrument. Yamaha designed their "SRT" pickup solution, with controls for Volume, Treble, Bass & SRT blend (piezo vs their preamp which utilizes a circuit emulation of some famous microphones) - finishing out with a functional Auto-Feedback reduction system (great for live use - and this includes the Yamaha branded sound hole cover). The neck is designed with a 25.5" scale length, and made of mahogany with an ebony fingerboard. Classic snowflake style inlay look the part, and the neck feels great with a heftier C profile and a 1 11/16" nut width. This example is in great shape from the original owner. Nice low action that measures 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret, with a nice tall saddle. The frets and fingerboard are nice and clean with no issues. Cosmetically its very clean with only surface level wear present. Includes original hardshell case.
